St. Joseph’s Drops Second Straight Non-Conference Game

Whatever the case may be, St. Joseph’s has now lost consecutive games to sub .500 teams entering the Skyline Conference playoffs on Friday.Yesterday it was a 9-6 loss to 2-26 John Jay College and today it was an 8-5 loss to New Jersey City–who entered with a 15-20 record.The Golden Eagles used many of their typical starters in the lineup–Joseph Lynn, Brendan Sullivan, Joe Calabrese, James Nakashian and Anthony Bonilla but used the day to get some work in for their relievers.The offense did compile 14 hits–with three coming by CF Ryan Walsh, who also scored a run. St.Joseph’s Gets in the W Column

Photo Credit: St. Joseph’s Athletics The St Joseph’s Golden Eagles traveled down to Fort Meyers, Fla to play some baseball in warm weather. After two losses, they were able to come out victorious 6-4 against Elms in a seven-inning game. The offense came to play–they smashed 12 hits with Nick Girardi leading the way with three of those. Anthony Bonilla, Brendan Sullivan and Joe Calabrese added two hits each. They got out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the third on an RBI single by Girardi and a two-run single by Sullivan. Elms pushed across two in the bottom of the fourth to make it interesting for a bit.
