He wanted to play professional baseball and was drafted (twice) by the Philadelphia Phillies out of Commack HS and the Milwaukee Brewers out of Fordham University. Following his playing career, he was passionate about helping amateur catchers that were hungry to improve so he founded Seven Tool Catching which has since turned into a staple of the Long Island baseball community and has been sold out each year. It’s been an annual tradition to visit Scout Day at the 7 Tool Catching camp run by former Milwaukee Brewers prospect Charles Galiano. The Commack native has run the camp since 2018 and it has steadily grown each year and now several of the top catchers on Long Island are weekly participants. Yesterday several players of note caught my eye. I wasn’t able to get video of every player but there was a group of about 11 players that will be playing collegiate ball. There were several college coaches on hand and two pro scouts including myself and Larry Izzo of the Mets.
