In the top of 1st, the Greendogs sent Braden Cloghessy to the mound to advance them in the tournament. Cloghessy would sit down the Titans in order to give the Greendogs an opportunity in the bottom half of the inning. Cloghessy led off the bottom half with a single setting the table for the Greendogs. Cloghessy proceeded to steal 2nd and 3rd giving the Greendogs an RBI chance early. In the 1st inning, starting pitcher Mac Fairbairn struck out the first 2 batters in what looked like to be a 1-2-3 inning until the Diamonds had other plans. A 2-out single from Joey Puglissi brought up Nick Petrosino, who smoked a ball down the right field line bringing in Puglissi but a nice relay by Team Francisco gunning down Petrosino at 3rd to end the inning with the Diamonds leading 1-0 after the top of the 1st inning.
