The righty Benjamin Marcic got the start for the Sharks with the championship on the line, while the Tigers went with RHP Richie Lind. It took no time at all for the Tigers to take the lead, scoring twice in the top of the first. After three straight walks loaded the bases, Connor Scully drove in the game’s first run with an RBI single. Another run scored on a bases loaded HBP, making it 2-0 Tigers after...
by Trevor Dugan Jefferson Biener with a great play in foul territory to secure the 16u @liboysofsummer championship for the Giac Squad despite a late rally from the Bonnies FINAL: Giac Squad 6 – Bonnies 4 pic.twitter.com/SbVIC0JkAs — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) November 3, 2024 On a frigid Saturday night at Garden City Community Park, Giac Squad and the Bonnie Bees met to decide the Boys of Summer 16u Fall Division Championship. The best of three championship series began last Sunday, when the teams split a doubleheader to force a decisive game three. With the season on the line, the Giac Squad started the winning pitcher from game one, Jefferson Biener (Division 2026). The Bonnies went with the hard throwing right hander Jackson Medina (Park Slope Collegiate). Both starti...
(This is the third stop of the Fall Ball Series. Special thanks to Revolution Athletics for sponsoring this year’s series. Make sure to check them out here!) For as long as I’ve been following college baseball on Long Island, Adelphi has always been known for their strong pitching. Last season, a number of injuries impacted their pitching staff leaving them shorthanded to navigate through the ultra-competitive NE-10 Conference. It was their offense that kept them afloat, as they averaged an impressive 6.06 runs per game but were outscored by 29 runs on the season. They finished with an overall record of 23-23 (15-12 NE-10), and losing their playoff game against No. 2 New Haven. Their incoming class of freshmen certainly takes the sting away. From my vantage point, it has the po...
by Gabe Zoda In the second game of an All Star Baseball Academy double header, Five Star National 2026 showcased exceptional small ball play to secure a tie in a late game rally against the Bonnie Monarchs. The game was highly contested throughout, making it almost fitting to end in a tie. It started with a different kind of rally in the first inning from Five Star National in the top of the 1st. Aiden Dobrie and Chase Braun started the game off getting on base off of an error and a hit by pitch then a double steal. Having 2 runners in scoring position with no outs in the top of the first? Could you ask for a better start? That set the stage for Tyler Plugues who, with the infield in, rocketed a single past the diving 3rd baseman to score in the games first run. Chris Ragona would then s...

After a leadoff strikeout, the 2-5 batters hit four consecutive singles. The first run scored when Reynaldo Medina (Park Slope Collegiate 2027)...
Molloy has firmly established themselves as one of the premier Division-II programs in the northeast. They are coming off an outstanding season in which they won a program-record 42 games, captured the ECC Championship and the NCAA East Regional prior to losing in the Super Regionals to nemesis Southern New Hampshire. It could not have been a more dominant run through the East Regional as the Lions nearly shut out their opponents in all three games: (W) 7-0 vs No. 7 New Haven (W) 5-0 vs No. 6 Goldey-Beacom (W) 3-1 vs No. 7 New Haven The Lions advanced to face their rival Southern New Hampshire in the Super Regionals with a trip to the Division-II World Series on the line. It did not go nearly as well, as the Lions lost by the scores of 9-8 and 12-10 to end their season. They led 6-0...
Axcess Baseball is excited to announce that Bob Hirschfield is the 2024 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award Powered by Ken Kortright State Farm Agency. Hirschfield is a legendary figure within the Long Island baseball community and his impact is still felt. While most baseball fans are familiar with his name, some might not be aware just how deep his roots in the game of baseball are. During his career at St. John’s, he also played for the Cotuit Ketleers in the Cape Cod League and was a member of the USA College All Star team for legendary Miami head coach Ron Fraser. We were checking up on the Seawolves as they prepare for the 2025 season – which will be the 35th under Head Coach Matt Senk. They are coming off a 2024 season in which they finished with an overall record of 24-28 (12-15 in CAA play). It was their second season in the CAA conference after switching from the America East foll...
