GAME RECAP: South Shore Elite Manfredo and Top Tier Aviators Navy Square Off in Competitive Sunday DH

by Jacob Infald On the afternoon of June 16th, South Shore Elite Manfredo took on the Top Tier Aviators Navy in an exciting Father’s Day doubleheader for the Long Island Boys of Summer 13U American Division. After a competitive, back and forth afternoon of baseball, South Shore Elite won the first game 6-5 and the two squads ended up in a tie after game two, with a score of 8-8. Sean Gorey talks about what was working for him out on the mound. He only surrendered one run over four innings of work. GAME RECAP: RVC Tigers Hold On For 4-2 Victory Over Queens/Nassau Lions

by Jacob Infald On the afternoon of June 9th, the RVC Tigers took on the Queens/Nassau Lions in a doubleheader on opening day of the ECYBL 9u Summer Showdown American League at Plainedge Park. In the first game of the doubleheader, a contest that featured strong pitching performances from both sides, the Tigers were able to manufacture enough runs to secure a 4-2 victory. The Lions were able to get on the board first after being able to manufacture a couple of runs early. After a strong first inning by their starting pitcher AJ Greene, Jonathan Raudales was able to hit a one out single to right field for the game’s first base runner. The Aviators wasted no time getting the scoring started, as they struck for seven runs in the top of the first. Patient at bats by the Aviators yielded several walks. Disciplined hitting and a few timely hits, including an RBI single by catcher Christian Meadows, secured a huge lead for the Aviators right away. It was 7-0 midway through the first. On the evening of June 1st at Middle Country Athletic Complex, the Cougars were once again led by their ace, Stony Brook-commit Evan Kay and they defeated the Farmingdale Dalers, 2-1.
