Coach Kyle Johnson on the victory for the Titans @EcybTournaments pic.twitter.com/G5dB0ni1bp — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) October 10, 2020 To beat the 10u Titans-Anderson, you need to pay close to a perfect game. That means playing clean defensively, not allowing any walks and keeping their speedy runners at bay. That was not the case today, as they cruised to a 19-2 run-rule victory in the Columbus Day Tournament over Sharks Baseball Academy. Coach Kyle said, “From top to bottom, the whole lineup hit,” said the skipper and Stony Brook junior. “From Irrizary all the way down to Wonderland, they did their jobs and gave good at bats all game. I think they did a good job of putting the ball in place consistently and not letting up even though the score got out of h...

Following the game, Yeti’s Head Coach was asked about the performance of his team in which he said, “the team hit and fielded well. They did everything we had to do at the plate and ran the bases well.” In regards to the performance of his starting pitcher he said “Anthony Fedor has been our guy during the summer. He came in throwing as hard as he did all summer and he shut the door down for his team.” Junior Ducks starting pitcher, Jacob Gordon, retired the fir...
by Ethan Berch Jameson Rieger closes things up and the Mudcats complete a comeback win 8-5 in 6 innings due to time limit! pic.twitter.com/Gwg0Thv0vT — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 29, 2020 It was a classic chilly and windy fall baseball game down at Brentwood State Park. The 13u Long Island Mudcats took on the 13u Long Island Thunder. In what seemed like an early blowout, the Mudcats didn’t let that phase them. Caleb Dwyer got the nod for the Mudcats in this one. However, he didn’t last very long. His start was interrupted in the second inning when the Mudcat infield put together a four error inning. Throughout all the errors and wild pitches, Dwyer only lasted 1.2 innings as Anthony Araujo finished the frame. The Thunder went up 5-0 after the second. Jack Kregeluh start...

This version features the LI Elite taking on the Smithtown Bulls in a 15u matchup at Brentwood State Park. After the Bulls took down the Elite in game one in stunning fashion, the Elite didn’t let that faze them coming into game two. Colin Rosen got the nod for the Elite with determination in his eyes. Colin was electric in this game as he kept the Elite in the game as it went back and forth early on. First, the Bulls struck first when they went up 1-0 on a Ryan Conk RBI double. The Elite...
And that’s the game, the Tigers win it due to mercy rule again! 10-1 the final in 5 innings! pic.twitter.com/9D85uzXMjb — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 26, 2020 Bombs away at Wantagh County Park! In an 10u East Coast double header match up between the LI Titans and RVC Tigers, it was ALL Tigers all night. Offensively and defensively the Tigers dominated in a couple games that didn’t end up all that close. Game one went off to an insanely quick start when John Hawthrone stepped up to the dish against Titans starter Troy Coupet and did some damage early. John smoked an opposite field inside-the-park two run home run. That will not be the last time you hear that name in this article. The damage continued to pour on for this Tigers team, in the second inning, similar result, t...
by Jack McCluskey pic.twitter.com/GeVCg7sk1h — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 23, 2020 West Islip took on Tru32 this afternoon at Baseball Heaven. They sent Nick Veiga to the mound and he performed extremely well. He went 5+ innings with three strikeouts and gave up three runs on four hits with two walks. Tucker Schiavoni gave West Islip an early 2-0 on a 2 run HR in the top of the 2nd inning. I asked him about his HR and he told me “it felt great and it was the first 2 runs of the game. He knew it was gone “once it left his bat”. Then I asked him how his team prepared after giving up a 3-0 lead. He told me “that his pitcher Nick Veiga pitched 5 strong innings”. In the top of the 2nd inning Alex Czarnomski led off with a triple and he came around to score when ...
by Jared Valluzzi b1000 has now taken the lead up 5-4 in the bottom of the 5th pic.twitter.com/AbIPF0xpd8 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 20, 2020 Temperature has dropped and fall ball is underway here on Long Island. Beast Crimson and B1000 both fired up to get on the field and the theme for each team was its new players. Half of the players on each team didn’t play during the summer, so the coaches on both sides were excited to see their new talent in action. Both teams showed they have the ability to score and it was Beast Crimson getting the party started against pitcher Sean O’Connell. They would get three runners on as two walks and a HBP load the bases in the first. Justin Ortiz would be the one to come up big for Beast. Ortiz gets a big time hit and all thr...
by James Ryder Final: 13-2. Here is Batting 1.000’s Coach Evan on what details led to his teams big day at the plate: pic.twitter.com/pQEBBgNSDp — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 20, 2020 The second game of a double header at Plainedge Park Field 2 featured the 11u Long Island Beast against the Batting 1.000 Seminoles. The game began at 11 AM Sunday morning and quickly there was tie by the end of the first inning. However, Batting 1.000 went off in the top of the second to the tune of 7 runs. They wound winning after four innings of play with a score of 13-2. They took their first lead early by scoring two runs in the opening inning. by Ethan Berch That’s the game! 2-0 Batting .1000 Seminole’s over the South Shore Chiefs! pic.twitter.com/aMhVawmxPM — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) September 18, 2020 Get your blankets, sweatshirts, and coats out and ready because it’s fall baseball time! A late game match up between the Batting .1000 Seminoles and the South Shore Chiefs was a good one under the chilly lights at Cantiague Park. It was a defensive battle throughout with minimal hits, but low scoring baseball never fails to excite! Sal Apap got the start for the Chiefs and he was impressive. Apap pitches from the left side and showed a very good off speed pitch which troubled many of the Noles hitters. Apap struck out three batters through 3.1 innings pitched. He did run into trouble in the fourth inning when Jaiden ...
Jason Campo is a power hitting first baseman from St. John the Baptist. The 2022 grad attended our Ducks Stadium Showcase back in August of 2019. Yesterday he announced his commitment to attend Stony Brook University. St. John the Baptist, who captured the CHSAA title in 2018, is building quite a program under Head Coach Casey McKay. Don’t be surprised if they are playing on Championship Monday next year. I spoke with Jason about his experience with the college recruiting process and a myriad of other topics, and here’s what he had to say… Can you explain your experience with the college recruitment process and why you chose Stony Brook? My college recruitment process went very smoothly. Every couple of weeks I would touch base with Jim Martin, the assistant coach for Sto...
