by Nicholas Cipolla Final: Jr Ducks: 4 EastEnd Aviators: 4 Great play by the Jr Ducks Shortstop to end the game pic.twitter.com/o2rgXEpNbp — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 5, 2021 For the first time this summer, I witnessed a great game of baseball where someone didn’t have to lose. The LI Jr Ducks Kerman and the EastEnd Aviators 14u displayed some late game heroics in the bottom of the 6th, Top of the 7th, and the bottom of the 7th as well. As much as tie games stink, this was a game that both teams deserved to win. After both teams worked into and out of trouble, the Jr Ducks were able to draw first blood in the top of the 2nd. The starting pitcher for the Jr Ducks, Tyler Popko led off the inning with a double to deep left field. He was able to advance to third on a passed b...
by Gabe Zoda FINAL: BEAST RED 2, B1000 SEMINOLES 1. The Beast came into this game with 7 players and ended up taking this game home. pic.twitter.com/7l9qYsclFA — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 3, 2021 There was a fire in the Beast’s eyes yesterday and it allowed them to overcome a disadvantage and turn it slightly into their favor. As the season winds down in the LI Boys of Summer PG Collegiate League season, the Beast Red played against B1000 Seminoles Ferriggi. In a day slotted for a DH, they ended up playing only one game to 9 innings due to a lack of players. This lack of players would be an issue for both sides but one team suffered more than the other. That team would be the Beast Red squad as they would play a majority of the game with 7 players. The Seminoles had 9 s...
by Nicholas Cipolla Game Over! Reed Hoskins rips a single up the middle to give NY Nine a come from behind win in the bottom of the seventh with 2 outs. pic.twitter.com/pkKUxlGx0c — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 1, 2021 This game was a classic from start to finish if I would say so myself. In a game that started off as a pitchers duel, we finished with a crazy bottom half of the 7th that swung in favor of NY Nine. In the first two innings, Brayden Martino and Ryan Martino traded zeros and both looked dominant. Brayden Martino of NY Nine got off to a video game-esque start as he struck out the first seven batters he faced. His Knuckleball was fooling and frustrating the LI Storm hitters for the first 2.1 innings as no one was able to put it in play. However, that changed in ...
by Gabe Zoda In the bottom of the 6th the FS Hitmen comeback and WALK IT OFF ON THIS BROKEN PLAY. Jay Gigante scored the winning run. pic.twitter.com/gs3LSSL3FD — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 29, 2021 Some of the best feeling wins in baseball come from comebacks and walk-offs. Luckily for everyone in attendance at this 13u matchup between the LI Jr Ducks and the FS Hitmen, we got to see both. This game was one of the most back-and-forth games of the season. These teams traded blows and scored in all but 2 innings. The scoring showed itself in the scoreboard as well as the final score would end up 9-8 in favor of the FS Hitmen. The Jr. Ducks would land the first punch in the top of the 1st. They would score 1 from a single from Max Rayburn to make that happen. Before that sin...
by Nicholas Cipolla Steve Vlahopoulos crushed a 2 out double that hit the wall in left field. The score is now tied at one in the sixth inning pic.twitter.com/hvjLuxcHZy — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 28, 2021 Ryan Annunziato was clutch when the Dodgers needed him most, at the bat and on the mound. Before any of this happens, we need to talk about the first three-and-a-half innings. During that timeframe, we were treated to a pitchers’ duel. We had almost no offense throughout these innings and both teams’ defenses were playing mistake-free baseball, that is until the bottom of the fourth inning. With a runner on second and two outs, Nick Schimmel hit a ground ball to third base, the throw was wide and pulled the first baseman into Schimmel where he unfortunately c...

by Nicholas Cipolla Postgame interview with Nick Fiorentino after Yeti takes both games from the Red Devils pic.twitter.com/Kj6SowR4cI — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 26, 2021 Game 1: Yeti Baseball did not want to play any games during this one. They had a monster second inning where they scored 10 runs and it always seemed like the next man up kept on delivering. In the bottom of the second, Yeti had 3 of the first 4 batters in the inning walk to load the bases for Angelo Servellon who kept the trend going as he worked a walk to give Yeti a lead that they would never surrender. The next batter, Jack Visnius, hit an infield single to the shortstop to give Yeti a 2-0 lead, the bases remained loaded with only one out for Bobby Eck who also drew a walk making it 3-0 Yeti The lineu...
by Gabe Zoda FINAL: LI Thunder-Judge win this one by the score of 4-1 over Dodger Nation-LaMarca. pic.twitter.com/8xVz06Fawt — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 24, 2021 There’s nothing better than summer ball, that is true with all ages and the same can be said with this 12u matchup at the Summer Showdown. This matchup was between the LI Thunder-Judge and Dodgers Nation-LaMarca. This game featured some good technical baseball and a lot of fun had by both teams which is the most important part at the end of the day for these guys. At the end of the game the LI Thunder-Judge would take home the victory with a score of 4-1 and good pitching and good defense allowed them to do just that. The offense for the Thunder would start in the 2nd inning as they would get 2 runs and one name ...
by Ben Diamond Game 1: Game Over! A Cameron Mastrelli RBI single wins the game for the Greendogs 4-3 in 7. pic.twitter.com/7cczBDkqIr — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 24, 2021 Early in game one, it seemed as though the Greendogs would win this game without question. But the inability to tack on more insurance runs allowed the Thunder to stay in the game and make things interesting. Early in the game, the Greendogs were able to score a run on an E4, and a defensive miscommunication allowed them to get an early 2-0 lead in the 1st inning. They would then score another run an inning later on a pickoff attempt that got an out but the runner was able to score from third. In both innings where the Greendogs scored, they left runners on base, runs that would have made the game much eas...
by Nicholas Cipolla Johnathon Hayes hits an RBI double to center field to make it a 6-3 game in the bottom of the fifth inning. pic.twitter.com/c5BCcZDe7w — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 22, 2021 The B1000 Seminoles were able to get out to a quick start, and it proved to be too much for the South Shore Sharks in tonight’s game. The Seminoles got to bat first and they really took advantage of the opportunity. Jase Weiner got the game started with a hard single to right, Matteo Fiore followed up with another line drive base hit. Two batters later PJ Campagnuolo reached base on a perfectly placed ground ball that no one on the infield could make a play on it. That gave Michael Midea Jr stepped up to the plate with one out. He hit a ball into the right center gap that dropped in fr...
by Gabe Zoda After the game we caught up with WP James Haupt to talk about today’s DH and his CG on the mound. pic.twitter.com/vIFiVePEDz — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 22, 2021 Whenever you have two good teams going up against each other, you know it’s going to be a good game. But when you get a DH between two good teams you get to watch 2 great games. That’s exactly what was seen at Newfield HS when Team Steel Molinaro played against Phenom Baseball. Both teams would take one game of the DH and both of the games would only be decided by one run. The first game would go in favor of Team Steel. They would take it by a score of 3-2 but the scoring wouldn’t start until the top of the 3rd. This run would be scored by Ryan Suppa, who pinch ran for Ryan Yerkes. He started ...
