In what was a rather lopsided affair at Brentwood State Park, the Titans had it all working for them right from the very first inning. The first two batters of the game would reach base on a single and a hit by pitch, setting the table rather early against Owls Jaden Schmidt. On an attempted first to third pick off move the Owls couldn’t find an out, leading to the Titans drawing first blood. Joseph Scarabino would proceed to line one over the Owls first baseman to bring...

Seminoles Win Boys of Summer 16U Championship Thanks to Jazylo’s 10 Ks

by Nick Cipolla Postgame interview with Michael Jazylo after his big performance on the mound for B1.000 Seminoles in the 16u National Championship @liboysofsummer pic.twitter.com/6EQsz17GKf — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 19, 2022 Michael Jazylo had a performance many kids dream of having when pitching in a championship game in tonight’s Boys of Summer 16u National Championship game against LIB Select Jazylo was a big reason why Batting 1.000 Seminoles Skoller were victorious, he threw a complete game, allowed one unearned run to cross the plate, made an incredible play with the glove to turn a double play, and struck out 10 batters in a 5-1 victory. The Seminoles offensive attack also played a big part in this game. Once they got an early lead, it seemed like the game was o...

Sean Fanning, Yeti Baseball Sweep Saturday Double Header

Final (Game 2): Yeti Baseball 2, LI Titans 0 WP: Sean Fanning (CG, 5 H, 0 R, 8 Ks, 84% strikes) @liboysofsummer pic.twitter.com/vSD4AM6X9d — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 13, 2022 It was two distinctly different types of games but both yielded the same result as Yeti Baseball swept a double header from LI Titans Robles this afternoon by the scores of 6-5 (6 innings) and 2-0. Both teams are battling it out in the 15u National standings in the LI Boys of Summer, although today’s results did create some separation. In Game 1, the pitching match up was Connor Catania for Yeti Baseball and Dylan Cerone for LI Titans. In the top of the 1st, Yeti struck first with a pair of runs. The first came on a wild pitch that scored Nick Fiorentino and an RBI single to right field by Sea...

New York City Captures Second Annual Leiderman Cup

For the second straight year, Axcess Baseball and Greater New York Sandlot teamed up to host the Mike Leiderman Cup – a charity game between New York City and Long Island to benefit the ALS Foundation. Mike Leiderman was a beloved member of the Long Island baseball community that tragically passed away in 2018 at the age of 56. He had an impact on countless individuals through his philanthropic work and also his dedication to the game of baseball. He founded the Long Island Storm and under his guidance, they won dozens of national tournaments, several national championships and sent over 100 players to professional ball. The event itself was not just a competition but a celebration of his life as his son, David, was invited to fire the ceremonial first pitch of the game to Long Islan...

Tomasello Fires Gem in 3-2 Victory for LI Black Diamonds

By Blake Buscemi Matt Tomasello takes us through his outing and how he led the Black Diamonds to a win today. pic.twitter.com/e0Plor1e2W — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 10, 2022 A 13u matchup between the B1000 Seminoles Okon and the Long Island Black Diamonds took place at PAL Complex on Tuesday. This was the second game of a doubleheader, so both teams needed to get the most out of their pitching.  Matt Tomasello got the start for the Black Diamonds. Don’t let the height deceive you – his feel for pitching is as good as anyone in his age group. He promptly induced a groundout, flyout, and strikeout to go one, two, three in the top of the first inning. He faced off against righty Bryce Howes of B1000. He did not have bad stuff either, but the Black Diamonds were a...

Nick Hoffman, Junior Ducks Hold Off Yeti Baseball in 6-4 Win

The Ducks close it out on Yeti Baseball, inducing a groundout to end it. Each team added another run apiece, but it did not make a difference in the outcome. Final: Ducks 6, Yeti Baseball 4 pic.twitter.com/39iwGoAldx — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 6, 2022 A 14u Boys of Summer matchup between Yeti Baseball and the Long Island Junior Ducks took place at Newfield High School on Saturday afternoon. Both teams have had similar seasons thus far, so a competitive game was expected.  Nick Hoffman took the mound for the Ducks. The righty with a downer curveball made it look easy in the first inning, promptly throwing a hitless frame. The Duck bats showed they were there to play, jumping out to an early 4-0 lead via hits from Jacob Abzug and Bradley Fruchter as well as walks from Ryan...

B1 Seminoles and Tri-State Arsenal Split Double Header

by Aaron Rothschild It was a great doubleheader between two impressive 15u teams yesterday at Eisenhower Park. The B1 Seminoles Black and the Tri-State Arsenal would play two games featuring some impressive fielding with a lot of balls put in play. The teams would split the double header in what was a matchup of competitive teams, this is how we got there.  The game started with Seminole starter Jake Duchovski pitching to contact and doing a great job with a solid defense behind him. He would fire a scoreless first. In the bottom half of the inning the Seminoles would find some holes and go for five runs in the first inning, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Battista. After this Arsenal starter, Artie Green, would settle down.   The score would remain 5-0 until the top of the ...

This championship game was filled with solid baseball by both teams from their offense and defense. It was quite the showdown between Andrew Williams, who started for the LI Storm, and Jack Carr from the Titans. There were multiple 1-2-3 innings thrown by each starter including Carr, who struck out the side in the bottom of the first.  Wi...

Sag Harbor Whalers Capture the 2022 HCBL Championship

THE WHALERS ARE 2022 @HamptonsLeague CHAMPIONS! pic.twitter.com/efla0DYfgy — Sag Harbor Whalers (@SagHbrWhalers) July 31, 2022 It couldn’t have been any more dramatic as the Sag Harbor Whalers and Westhampton Aviators were tied in the bottom of the ninth in Game 3 of the HCBL Championship series. Westhampton had previously captured the championship four times (most recently in 2019), while Sag Harbor hadn’t came out on top since 2008. A perfectly executed bunt by Wyatt Benson combined with an error by the pitcher allowed the go-ahead run to score and send the hometown team into a frenzy. Brett Borcherding fired two shutout innings of relief to earn the victory. Ryan Miller was tagged with the tough luck loss – after striking out four over three innings and allowing just t...
