Tyler Chen started things off for the Titans in the bottom of the first inning with a 1 out single. Titans starting pitcher Dylan Girard helped himself out by getting an RBI single to make the score 1-0 Titans at the end of the first. The Titans’ bats really woke up in the second as they got hits from Nick Murelli, Dylan Girard, Mason Miles, and a base clearing double from Roman Dixon. The game would end after only 3 innings with a final score of 20-6. The conditions were most definitely a factor but the Chiefs caught fire in the cold winds. They started the game off hot with good discipline at the plate with a total of 5 hits and 2 walks in the inning making the score 5-0 before their pitcher even took the mound. Ben Cohen, Jacob Kouba, and Ryan Tullo all had RBI hits during the inning. In the top of the fourth inning, LIB-Prime’s bats were at it again with back-to-back 2-run doubles from Ryan Buckhalt and Jacob Kouba to extend their lead to 9-0. The 12u organization ran their overall record to 226-21 after their 12-0 shutout victory in the East Coast Labor Day Bash over the EEP Bandits. As can be seen by the score, they are not just winning tournaments, but they typically win in run-rule fashion against some of their toughest opponents.
