GAME RECAP: Merrick Mayhem and Bayside Yankees Split Friday Double Header

You couldn’t have had two more different ballgames in this double header. Merrick Mayhem and Bayside Yankees split an 11u DH at Cantiague Park on Friday night with the Mayhem winning Game 1, 2-1, as Bayside Yankees got even in the night cap, 8-5, in a game that featured plenty of late-inning drama. GAME RECAP: B1 Seminoles Pascucci and Titans Greif Split Double Header

Next Level Showcase Captures 2023 Axcess World Series

This weekend we hosted the second annual Axcess World Series at the beautiful complex of St. Dominic High School. In a field of 14 teams, both Next Level teams emerged to win pool play with records of 3-0. They squared off in the finals on Sunday, with Next Level Showcase coming away with a 5-1 victory. Incredibly, they allowed just 6 runs in the four games. Ryan Morash (Calhoun 2025) was the winning pitcher. The Most Valuable Player of the tournament was Collin Anderson (Chaminade 2025) who was red-hot all weekend, going 8-for-10 with 8 RBIs, 5 stolen bases and 2 doubles. After the first game of the double header where the Mayhem edged out a 7-6 ending the Storm’s rally in the final inning where they scored 4 and had the winning run-on base, the Storm continued where they left off in game 2. The Storm started the top of the first with a leadoff single and a stolen base giving Jack Foley an RBI chance. It was a pitchers’ duel between the two teams as there were only four runs scored between both teams. Arsenal sent Tyler Pilatski to the mound, and he got into some trouble early.
