Undefeated since July 16th, they’ve averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game during this stretch and hold a record of 9-0-1.  After dominantly upsetting the top-seeded Sag Harbor Whalers last week, Southampton turned their focus to the HCBL Championship series against the Shelter Island Bucks, aiming to finish their Cinderella story...

GAME RECAP: South Shore Elite and LI Titans Manzi Play Hard-Fought Double Header

by Jacob Infald In today’s fast paced environment, most baseball fans believe that the most exciting contests are those that are high scoring and fast paced. However, yesterday’s LI Boys of Summer 15U American division doubleheader between Titans Manzi and South Shore Elite proved just the opposite, that low scoring pitching duels can be just as exciting as a slugfest. In two games that featured dominant pitching from both squads the two teams tied game one 3-3, while the Titans came out on top, winning the second game 3-1. Game 1: We spoke with Aiden Prashad (Holy Trinity 2027). Aiden fired 6 and 2/3 innings for Titans Manzi and while the game did end in a tie, Prashad played great, striking out 11 and going 1-1 at the plate with a triple and two walks. pic.twitter.com/gSXvAWOVp3 — Axcess...

After winning their first game against the South Shore Clippers, they faced a challenging stretch, dropping their next six contests and finding themselves at the bottom of the HCBL standings. With nine games remaining, they needed six victories to reach the playoffs and responded with an impressive 6-0-1 run to secure their spot. One of the most thrilling aspects of the playoffs is that every team starts with a clean slate; regular season accolades fade away, and s...

Conversation With New York Mets 11th Round Draft Pick Nick Roselli

The game of baseball is littered with stories of players that peaked at a young age and gradually fizzled out as their peers caught up with their size and ultimately were never the same. It is a breath of fresh air when a player is the inverse of that, somebody that was constantly overlooked and always outworked the competition. Big Congratulations to 2021 Titan, Nick Roselli on being drafted in the 11th round by the New York Mets! Nick is a kid that never gets out worked. He truly deserved this! Go crush it at the Pro Level!! @nickroselli2021 @axcessbaseball #TitanNation pic.twitter.com/m2HrksJCsn — Titans (@TitansBsb) July 16, 2024 Enter Nick Roselli. I first watched him play at Sal Agostinelli’s Northeast Elite when he hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the 9th at Baseball Hea...

He was a passionate man in everything he did – but his greatest love was th...

by Jacob Infald There is absolutely zero quit in the squad from Smithtown as this Saturday morning doubleheader showed why the Smithtown Bulls are at the top of the league in the East Coast 10U Summer Showdown National division. After overcoming a 9-0 deficit earlier in the season against the Sharks Baseball Academy, the Bulls demonstrated some more resilience today, including overcoming a 10-5 deficit in the last inning to sweep the doubleheader against a scrappy Farmingdale Greendogs team, winning two tightly contested games by scores of 5-4 and 11-10 respectfully to improve to 14-0 on the season. We spoke with today’s player of the game Grayson Dick and Coach Hyne. Grayson was the winning pitcher, pitching the last two innings allowing no runs. He also scored the game winning run. The p...

Rafe Schlesinger Selected by Cleveland in the 4th Round of 2024 MLB Draft

Rafe Schlesinger became the first Sachem East alum in their 20-year history to be selected in the MLB Draft. The 2021 grad was selected in the 4th round by the Cleveland Guardians following his three-year career at the University of Miami where he became one of the top southpaws in the nation. The last Sachem alum to get selected was Alec Sole in 2014 by Tampa Bay out of St. Louis University. Rafe has been a high-profile name in the Long Island baseball community for several years. We first profiled back in early 2019 before he stepped foot on a varsity field. His pitching coach at the time, Neal Heaton, stated that he was ahead of where Steven Matz was at the same age. Matz, of course, went on to get selected by the New York Mets in 2009 and has been in the big leagues since 2015. Schlesi...
