13u Titans Baseball Cooney faced off against the LI Elite Bauer this Saturday as part of the ECYB Stars and Stripes tournament.
Aidan Royce got the start on the mound for the Titans, while the Elite sent out Bobby Mocharski.
The Elite jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first thanks to several singles from the top of the lineup. Mohcarski and left fielder Matthew Uttaro each recorded an RBI during the inning.
The Titans were quick to respond in the bottom of the first. They pushed across four runs to jump out to a 4-2 lead. Second baseman Nick Bishop scored the first of his three runs during this rally. He would finish the day 2-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
After a shaky first inning, the Titans starter settled in nicely. Royce would pitch two more solid innings, allowing just one more run.
Royce demonstrated some real tenacity when faced with tough situations. After the first three batters of the top of the second reached base, three straight groundouts left them stranded with no runs to show for it.

The Titans continued to build their lead, scoring three more in the second inning. Anthony Adriagna drove in two of those runs with an RBI single to right field.
The Elite chipped away at the lead in the third after an infield single scored Owen Sorensen from third base. With runners on, Royce once again pitched out of trouble to end the inning.
The score would remain 7-3 until the bottom of the fourth, when the Titans exploded for six more runs. With the mercy rule being 10 runs after four, the game ended in a 13-3 Titans victory.
