Up Next Powered by State Farm Ken Kortright Agency: Evan Fallon

Despite sustaining an injury in the summer that limited his game-action, Evan Fallon recovered and posted a terrific fall season for the East Coast Lumberjacks.

He compiled 45 at bats playing between the 2028s and 2026s. In that time, he notched 16 hits with 5 doubles, 2 triples and 12 RBIs. He was also able to notch 17 strikeouts over his 11 innings. Since that time, he has gained strength and has been reportedly siting 80 MPH and touching 83 MPH. This is for a 9th grader that hasn’t played a game of varsity ball yet at St. Anthony’s. His older brother, Joe, also attends St. Anthony’s and is one year older – he is committed to Long Island University.

Fallon was named to three Perfect Game All-Tournament teams; Northeast Select Championship, WWBA World Championship and Super 25 Long Island Fall Super Qualifier.

His hitting coach, Kyle Strovink, had this to say:

“Evan is a special type of athlete, the kind of kid that you tell him to make the adjustment and he can do it the next pitch. He is going to be a name we will be hearing a lot about over the next few years,” he added.

I had a chance to speak with him and here’s what he had to say..

Who are some people that have had a positive impact on your career?

I would say my parents and my pitching coach, Ryan Horstman, play a positive role in my baseball career.

Was baseball always your No. 1 sport?

Baseball was not always my No. 1 sport. It used to be lacrosse, but I stopped playing in 7th grade to focus on baseball.

Who are you favorite players in Major League Baseball?

My favorite player is Ronald Acuna Jr. because he has a really nice swing and he is on my favorite team. My parents are both Braves fans.

What was the best experience you’ve had on a baseball field?

The best experience I’ve had on a baseball field is hitting 2 HRs in a game in Cooperstown for the LI Mudcats. I’m not really a home run hitter so to hit two in one game was pretty special.

Who do you work with any private instructors?

I have a pitching coach, Ryan Horstman, who is also my strength coach. He works at the Stony Brook School. My hitting coach is Kyle Strovink.
