At MacArthur High School, a 15u Boys of Summer matchup went back-and-forth but ended up in 6-6 draw after 5 innings of play due to rain.
Six of the 12 combined runs occurred just in the 1st inning. The Seminoles loaded up the bases in the first inning. With 1 out, Zach Lam scored Ryan Jazylo with an RBI single. Nick Bodkin would then knock in another run with an RBI groundout and the Seminoles led 2-0.

When the bottom half of the inning came, South Shore Elite would double the Seminole’s output by first loading the bases up themselves. Chris Lonergan hit a base-clearing double down the right field line and Kieran Diakeiman followed up with an RBI single into center to score Lonergan to make it 4-2 South Shore when the 1st inning was all said and done.
Both offenses went down quietly in the 2nd and 3rd innings but then the 4th inning had another 6 runs come across.
Kyle Busch would lead off the 4th with a walk in a pinch-hitting appearance, Patrick Capputti reached on an E6 that would score Busch who advanced to third during Capputti’s at bat from past balls. The Seminoles loaded the bases just like they did in the 1st this time from back-to-back hit by pitches with Michael Murphy and James Flynn both getting plunked. A Jazylo walk put the Seminoles back out in front and then an Aidan Clancy walk made it 6-4 Seminoles. RBI walks from Aidan Haug and Ben Arreaga on South Shore Elite’s end knotted the ballgame up at 6. South Shore Elite would draw 10 walks through 4 innings, which gave them plenty of assistance to score when at the plate.

Both teams would go down in order in the 5th. South Shore Elite executed a beautiful relay to get Bodkin out while trying to stretch out a single into extra bases. Clancy, in relief for Batting 1000, struck out Lonergan and the game was called early after the 5th, ending with both teams at 6.
With the tie, South Shore Elite is now 7-1-1 through 9 games of league play, and Batting 1000 moves to 5-4-1 in the summer season.
