Cayden Hereth Gets It Done on Both Sides of the Ball in an 8-3 Win For Beast Black

by Chris Donnelly

Beast Black took on the NBNM Rebels and the two teams battled early on, scoring 7 of the 11 total runs in the first 2 innings. Beast Black and the Rebels came out swinging as the Rebels put up one in the top of 1st on an RBI single from Nicky Mezzanotte giving them the lead heading to the bottom half.  The starting pitcher for the Rebels, Andrew Romeo, kept Beast Black off the board keeping the game 1-0 into the 2nd inning.

The Rebels kept it up in the 2nd putting up 2 more after starting a 2-out rally started from back-to-back walks and the huge hit was a 2 RBI double from Lukas Zehner making the score 3-0 Rebels. It did not take Beast Black much time as they took the lead putting up 4 in the bottom of the 2nd after a set of walks and hit by pitch, but it was Beast Black’s 3-hitter, Peter Disario, who had the big blow. Peter hit a 2-RBI double to give Beast Black the 4-3 lead after 2 innings.

Starting pitcher Cayden Hereth looked comfortable today for Beast Black and helped on both sides of the ball as he went 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs and a walk to go along with 3 innings pitched and 5 strikeouts allowing him to be the winning pitcher.

Beast Black took the lead and never looked back as Miles Kalisiewicz came in relief. Miles was shut down as he went 3 innings, not allowing a single hit and struck out 1. Beast Black added some insurance runs in the bottom of the 4th and 5th thanks to an RBI double from starting pitcher Cayden Hereth and a 2 RBI bullet of a single from Kenny Wallace to make the game 8-3.

This was all she wrote as Miles came out for his third and final inning and shut the door getting 3 quick outs to secure the 8-3 win for Beast Black over the NBNM Rebels. Beast Black did everything this game as they had 8 hits, stole 3 bases, and limited the Rebels to only 3 runs.
