Calhoun has had one goal every single game this season and they have accomplished it, win. They have managed to do it every time, as they are undefeated, 14-0. The reigning Long Island Champs hoped to keep their streak alive as they faced the MacArthur Generals. Calhoun’s Danny Goodman had his best stuff today and kept the streak going for his squad as he dominated on the mound.
Goodman was nothing but remarkable today. The southpaw tossed a complete game, striking out six, only allowing one earned run on just four hits. After an unearned run in the first, Goodman really got into a groove. From the fourth inning on, Goodman made it clear that he was in charge. He did not allow a hit after the third inning. His off-speed pitches were working really well for him, allowing his infield to make plenty of impressive plays behind him. When he needed a ground ball, he would go to his change-up and get what he needed.
Goodman had his best stuff and was overpowering. He out-battled MacArthur’s lefty, James Madison-commit Tyler Bonsignore. Bogsignore had quite the challenge ahead of him as he went up against Calhoun’s explosive lineup. He did manage to last five innings and strike out three batters. However, Calhoun’s bats could not be stopped.
Ryan Pucella, on the first pitch that he saw, got Calhoun on the board first with a solo home run to deep left center to tie the game at 1 in the bottom of the second. This led to three more runs in the bottom of the second. Joey Goodman singled in Brian Sanchez to take the lead, one which that they would not surrender for the rest of the game.

Matthew Sferratore drove in two runs with a hard hit single to cap off a four-run second inning. Calhoun exploded for five more runs in the fifth. Sanchez was a spark plug for this rally as he started the inning off with a double and then stole third, eventually scoring. He got the team going again and then including RBIs from Kalfas, Charlie Imhof, and another one from Pucella. Calhoun took a 9-2 lead after four. They added two more insurance runs in the sixth,
Calhoun became 15-0 with their 11-2 victory over MacArthur. They look to remain undefeated for the rest of this series and for the rest of the regular season.
