Division-I:

St. John’s

Game 1: St. John’s 9 , Georgetown 4

Game 2: St. John’s 2, Georgetown 6

The Red Storm opened the scoring in the first inning with an RBI base on balls. Saint John’s extended their lead to three with a two-run single by center fielder David Glancy.  The Red Storm continued to attack pitches and put this game away in the fifth with two home runs, one each by Glancy (1 RBI) and backstop Jimmy Keenan (3 RBI).  Georgetown put up four runs across the sixth and seventh runs but could not weather the ‘Storm’ as Glancy hit another long ball (2 RBI) in the eighth.

The second game, Georgetown slipped the script from the opener and put up six consecutive runs.  This stretch was capped off with a two-run shot by Marco Castillo.  St. John’s scored their runs off a two-run blast courtesy of Blake Mayberry.

The rubber match will take place Sunday at 1:00 PM EST.

LIU

LIU 5, Delaware State 1

Offenses were quiet until the fifth inning when catcher Connor Price broke the stalemate with a solo shot.  Later in the same inning, center fielder Max Samson knocked an RBI single and would also score on a wild pitch to extend the LIU lead to three.  The Sharks put up their final two in the eighth off a two-run triple by shortstop Jack Power.  Delaware got on the board in the bottom half of the inning but could not stage a rally.  Garrett Yawn was the star in this one as he threw a complete game with an impressive eleven strikeouts and only surrendered one run on four hits to lead LIU to complete the three-game sweep.  The Sharks take a trip to West Point on Tuesday to play Army at 3:30 PM EST.

Fordham

Game 1: Fordham 10, Saint Joseph’s 23

Game 2: Fordham 1, Saint Joseph’s 7

The first game featured an offensive explosion of 33 total runs.  The Rams opened things up in the first inning with a three-run shot by second baseman Zach Selinger.  The Hawks then put up seven consecutive runs which, capped off with a two-run home run by shortstop Luca Trigiani in the third inning.  The fourth inning featured an incredible 18 total runs.  Fordham scored six of them, which was highlighted by a three-run blast by center fielder Ryan Thiesse.  Then in the bottom half of the frame, Saint Joseph’s 12-spot put this one out of the reach for Fordham.  Saint Joseph’s would add on four more runs by the end of the game.  Trigiani finished the game with four RBIs, alongside his teammate Brett Calahan who led the offense today.

The Hawks carried their momentum right into the second game and put up a four-spot in the first inning which was capped off by an RBI double by first baseman Luke Zimmerman.  Saint Joseph’s would go on to extend their lead by tallying one run in the second, fourth, and sixth inning to go up by seven.  Fordham scored their lone run in the ninth via an RBI hit by pitch.  Fordham looks to get out of this slump with a long homestand beginning Tuesday as they welcome NJIT on Tuesday at 3:00 PM EST.

Division-II:

Queens 5, D’Youville 3

Both teams traded runs in the opening frame.  The Saints scored via an RBI groundout and the Knights scored off a Juan De La Rosa single.  The Saints grabbed their lead back in the following inning off a two-run double.  After that it was all Queens, as they put up four consecutive runs to push them over the top.  Reed Hoskins gave them the lead in the fifth with a two-run single and then hit another RBI single in the sixth to add some insurance.  This four-game series will finish up Sunday at 12:00 PM EST.
