In the second game, North Carolina got on the board first again, this time in the second inning via a sacrifice fly.  In the fourth, first baseman Brett Paulsen got the Sea Wolves on the board with a two-run single.  The Aggies would grab the lead back in the sixth off a fielder’s choice and a wild pitch.  This lead was short lived, as the Sea Wolves responded the following inning to not only tie the game but bring in the eventual game winning run.  Paulsen scored the tying run on a wild pitch and second baseman Evan Fox knocked a two-run single.  Josh O’Neill followed similar steps in this game and registered a complete game as well to earn his fifth win on the season.  The Sea Wolves will aim for a series sweep on Sunday at 12:00 PM EST.

Fordham 1, Saint Joseph’s 2

Catcher Tommy McAndrews opened the scoring in the opening frame with an RBI single.  Saint Joseph’s was shut down for most of the game, but they managed to tie it in the sixth off a sacrifice fly and then scored the eventual winning run in the seventh off an RBI single by left fielder Brett Callahan.  Fordham tallied seven hits but could not capitalize on any opportunities.  The Rams look to bounce back in a double header on Saturday beginning at 12:00 PM EST.

Both offenses came to play today in this back and forth double header.

During this stretch both designated hitter John Newton (2 RBI) and right fielder Alec DeMarttino (1 RBI) launched round trippers. Hofstra was not phased, however, and responded with an eight spot themselves to win it in walk-off fashion. Harrington opened the stretch with a two-run double and finished the day with a perfect 4-4 with one base on balls.  Harrington continued to power this offense and launched a solo shot in the eighth which got them within three.  Then in the ninth, after a fielder’s choice and wild pitch, second baseman Rosso Santino ripped a two-run double which powered the Pride over the top.

In the second game, the Pride carried their momentum over with an early RBI single by third baseman Ryan Morash in the second inning.  Both teams would trade runs in the fourth but the Seahawks would put up a three-spot in the fifth inning to grab their first lead of the game.  The Pride got within one run in the seventh off an RBI double by shortstop Michael Florides.  However, the Seahawks would put up two more runs in the final frame to put this out of reach. Third baseman Jac Croom led the way for them with a two-hit and two-RBI game.  The rubber match will take place on Sunday at 12:00 PM EST.
