NY TRU32 and B1.000 Seminoles Tie in Second Game of a Doubleheader

by Nick Cipolla

It was a beautiful Sunday on Long Island, a perfect day for October Baseball between Tristate Arsenal NY TRU32 and the B1.000 Seminoles.

Game 2 of a doubleheader between these two teams was one full of excitement that had a bit of a lackluster ending as the game ended in a tie due to the time limit.

The scoring began in the top of the first inning as the Seminoles got a 2 out rally going, putting runners in scoring position. A run would score on a wild pitch to make it a 1-0 game.

NY TRU32 would add three runs in the second, Will Morrell scored the tying run on a passed ball and JJ Gusick hit a 2-run single to deep right center to give TRU32 a 3-1 lead.

TRU32 would get two more runs in the third to extend their lead to 5-1. Nick Ippoliti hit an RBI single between third and short to make it 4-1. Ippoliti would later score on an RBI groundout to the pitcher by Alex Floroupolos to make it 5-1.

The Seminoles would get two runs back in the top of the fourth, Brendan Ohl hit an RBI single to left to make it 5-2. The Seminoles got the other run in exchange for two outs as a 4-6-3 double play knocked in a run to make it 5-3.

Ethan Rankin would push the TRU32 lead back to 3 runs with an RBI single, making it a 6-3 game.

The score would sit there until the top of the sixth, the Seminoles rallied for 4 runs to take a 7-6 lead. Chase Ruhling made it 6-4 with an RBI single to deep right center field and Josh Feigenbaun would tie the game when he hit a single to left field that would end up forcing two runs home when a throw by the TRU32 left fielder threw the ball into the Seminoles dugout allowing two runs to score.

Teddy Stines hit a go-ahead RBI infield single to knock in Feigenbaun, giving the Seminoles a 7-6 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth.

With the odds stacked against TRU32, they would tie the game at 7 thanks to a clutch single by Will Morrell

Despite putting the winning run at second with two outs, TRU32 could not capitalize and the Seminoles were able to escape the situation without letting another run cross to keep it tied at 7.

Unfortunately for everyone in attendance, the game ended in a tie due to the time limit rule, one inning short of what could’ve been an epic conclusion.
