In an ECYB Columbus Day Tournament between the 5 Star Nationals and the Bethpage Eagles, both pitchers would be on their ‘A games’ as nothing happened on the bases through 2 innings.
The Bethpage Eagles would get on the board first when Mike Cleary would get on base due to an error and would come around to score after stealing second and third and finally coming home on a passed ball giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead after 3 innings.
The 5-star Nationals would get their first hit of the game off the bat of their leadoff hitter Paul Capoblanco who would advance to second on a miss play by the right fielder and would move to third on a fielder’s choice. Paul Capoblanco would end up scoring on a wild pitch to tie the game at 1 in the 5th inning.
A.J. Scruellon would lead off the 6th inning for 5-Star with a triple over the centerfielder’s head and would score on a passed ball to take the lead 2-1.
Bethpage Eagles Starting pitcher Justin Pagan would lead off the 6th with a single and steal second on the next pitch. Justin Alas would hit into a fielder’s choice which would move the runner to 3rd with one out. Joey Luparello would get an RBI single to tie the game back up at 2.
With 2 outs and a runner on third Dylan Seemangel would hit an RBI single to left to take the lead 3-2.

With the team just taking the lead in the bottom of the 6th, Eagles’ starting pitcher comes out to finish the game. He would start the inning with a strikeout followed by a groundout to the shortstop. The next batter would work a walk, but the game would be over there as he tried to steal second base but was thrown out by the star of the game Dylan Seemangel.
