Laskowski, Colonials No-Hit NexGen Storm

by Nick Cipolla

Nick Laskowski was on his A game last night from the first pitch he threw until the last one he was allowed to throw.

Laskowski was dominant to say the least and was only pulled because of a pitch limit that he hit with two outs in the fifth, not allowing him to finish the game which ended in the same inning due to the two hour time limit in Town of Brookhaven. This performance kept his team in a close game against NexGen Storm that looked like it would be a pitcher’s duel until the Colonials offense came through in the third inning.

The Colonials had a big four run third inning that proved to be where the momentum shifted. It all started when the NexGen Pitcher balked in a run to make it 1-0 Colonials. Nick Hristidis hit a ball to center field that wasn’t corralled by the NexGen center fielder to give the Colonials a 2-0 lead.

Austin Panettieri made it 3-0 with an RBI single between third and short, he would later score on a sac fly from Avery Bascunan to make it 4-0.

The Colonials would get two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Austin Panettieri hit an RBI groundout to make it 5-0 and, once again, scored on an RBI single from Avery Bascunan to make it 6-0 Colonials right before the game was called due to the time limit being reached.
