There’s been no team more dominant over the past five seasons than the NY Longhorns. The 12u organization ran their overall record to 226-21 after their 12-0 shutout victory in the East Coast Labor Day Bash over the EEP Bandits. As can be seen by the score, they are not just winning tournaments, but they typically win in run-rule fashion against some of their toughest opponents.
This game was particularly impressive, as they were able to chase the Bandits’ starting pitcher before recording an out. They posted four runs with the first coming on an RBI ground out by starting pitcher Christian Calabro who scored Logan Ho. They added two more when the next batter, JP Petty, ripped a two-run single and then he advanced to second on a wild pitch to get into scoring position. The next batter, Aidan Ynoa, drove him in with an RBI single through the 5.5 hole.
Calabro was dominant on the mound, he allowed a single in the first inning, but fired a 1-2-3 inning in the second inning. He allowed a single in the third inning, but he struck out two batters. In the fourth inning, he worked around a HBP and a walk to fire another scoreless inning.
All the while, his offense stayed relentless. They scored in all three of their offensive innings.

In the second inning, they added runs on RBI hits by Bryce Cutrone, Nick Mauceri and an RBI ground out by Petty. In the third inning, they did the bulk of their damage with a five-spot. Aidan Ynoa led things off with a single to left field. After the next two batters were retired, Logan Ho blooped a single to center field and Bryce Cutrone followed with a single of his own to load the bases. Nick Mauceri ripped a two-run single to center to make it 9-0 and Christian Calabro put the game away with a two-run triple to make it 11-0. They later scored on a wild pitch to make it a dozen runs.
Calabro had no issues in the fourth inning, allowing the game to end via run-rule. The Longhorns have simply been dominant every step of the way. They have another year at 51-75 field before moving to the big diamond where they will look to transition their dominance.
