Body Armor Titans Tie Game In First, Never Look Back Enroute to Win 6-2

by Chris Prystupa

The Body Armor Titans and the Atlantic Reign squared off this afternoon in a matchup between the three and four seeds. The Atlantic Reign struck first in this one as Titans’ starting pitcher, Austin Brady, struggled with his command early, surrendering four straight walks. Junzen Sarza would bring in another run lifting one into the outfield for a sacrifice fly. Fortunately, the Titans were able to manage the damage and limited the Reign to just two runs.

The Titans wasted no time when it came to evening up this ballgame as TJ Bradford laced a two-run triple to left field in the bottom of the first. Kobe Tindley would follow up the triple with a sacrifice fly giving the Titans the lead. The Titans would continue to add on in the bottom of the second inning on a botched pickoff play resulting in a run scoring. Both teams would go quietly through the next three innings of play as they just couldn’t get any runners home.

Finally, the Titans would break through again in the bottom half of the fifth as TJ Bradford would single and steal two bases putting him in perfect position to score. Bradford did just that as there would be a wild pitch allowing him to score. Julian Guzman also contributed an RBI single giving the Titans some extra insurance in the later innings of this ballgame. Alex Bono would close it out in the top of the sixth and seal the victory for the Body Armor Titans in the Blue Chip Invitational Tournament.
