The 15U Body Armor Titans used a four-run bottom of the third to help them win their first game in the Blue Chip Prospect Invitational Tournament this afternoon. The game started off in the Diamond Ducks’ favor as they struck first in the top of the first inning thanks to a Kevin Cestari RBI double.
The Titans would be slow to get going but found their stride in the bottom half of the second inning. To start the inning off, Kameron Tindley laced a double putting a much needed man in scoring position for the Titans. Following a walk, Jack Durso would showcase some excellent two strike hitting as he put a ball into play forcing a tough hop onto the Duck’s second basemen allowing two to score. Aaron Diaz extended their lead to 3-1 in his at bat as he doubled giving the Titans a two-run lead early on.
The Diamond Ducks would scratch one across in the top of the third inning on a Shane White sacrifice fly. The trouble started for the Diamond Ducks in the bottom half of the third as they would struggle to keep the flood gates closed. The Titans exploded for another four runs and to add to their lead. Austin Brady tripled, Kobe Tindley and Patrick Desarno had RBI singles, Julian Guzman had an RBI fielder’s choice, and Alex Bono had an RBI double. The Titans now had a strong 7-2 lead over the Diamond Ducks in the middle innings.

The final runs of the game for the Titans would come in thanks to Alex Bono again; he doubled bringing home two further extending the Titans already solid lead to 9-2.
The Diamond Ducks wouldn’t go out quietly in the top of the sixth. Shane White added onto his solid day with another RBI on a fielder’s choice. They tacked on one more with a bases loaded walk before running out of time. The Titans were able to seal the deal and win 9-4 evening up their record at 1-1 in tournament play. Both teams will be back in action today again at Mitchell Field.
