Freedom Baseball came to Hofstra University ready to play in their Boys of Summer midweek matchup against B1000 Seminoles. They were dominating on both sides of the baseball as their offense exploded for ten runs and their starting pitcher, Jason Stiles, pitched five shutout innings in the win.
The scoring started early for Freedom Baseball in the bottom half of the first, courtesy of Kyle Coppola. He put a ball in play for a fielder’s choice, allowing Anthony Manetta to score after his leadoff double. The score would remain the same until the bottom of the third inning with Freedom Baseball up at the plate.
Anthony Manetta extended their lead with an RBI single past the Seminoles third baseman and this was just the tip of the iceberg for the third. The Seminoles committed a multitude of errors and kept the bases occupied with walks. An error by the first baseman, a passed ball and an RBI infield single by Francis Kelly allowed for a huge inning resulting in a 5-0 lead for Freedom Baseball.

In the bottom half of the fifth inning, Freedom Baseball would be in business again as three errors would be committed by the Seminoles, a dropped fly ball in left and two errors by the third baseman would extend their lead to 8-0. The final runs of the ballgame would come in to score on a fielder’s choice by Luke Thomson; and Kyle Coppola would ice the game with his RBI single.
With Freedom Baseball being the home team the mercy rule went into effect after Coppola’s RBI single and the game dropped dead sealing the victory.
