Ari Gluck Fans 12 in CG Victory over Nassau Bolts

Ari Gluck had a terrific high school season on the mound for Half Hollow Hills East. He continued that momentum right into the summer season for Body Armor Titans 16u. On a beautiful Saturday morning at the PAL Complex, the right hander worked quickly and efficiently as he struck out 12 batters over 6 innings, allowing just one run on an RBI ground out in the top of the sixth inning.

Following the game, Gluck noted that his goal was “just to get some work in and find the zone,” he added that he’s “working with a new catcher and trying to get on the same page with him.” The catcher was Kevin Schnupp Jr, son of Sachem East coach Kevin Schnupp. He was also the biggest contributor offensively for the Titans. The Comsewogue catcher led the team with two hits, two runs scored and two runs batted in hitting from the five-spot in the order.

The Titans wasted no time getting on the board in this one. Nick Zampieron walked, stole second and scored on the back end of a double steal. The Bolts starter walked two batters in the inning and Titans took advantage of it.

Gluck really was dominant in the middle innings, as he struck out one batter in the second inning but he struck out the side in the third inning and two batters in the fourth inning and struck out the side once again in the fifth inning to get him to double digits.

The game was close for the first four innings. The Titans added their second run on an RBI ground out, but the bats woke up in the home half of the fifth when they scored four times to put it out of reach.

Peter Beisel and Kevin Schnupp‘s RBI hits broke it open. They appeared to have another on the board but the assist was made by the right fielder on a bloop single by Nick Zampieron to throw out Luke Ciminiello at the plate.

Gluck allowed one run to score in the sixth but that was it. The Titans added their 7th run of the game on another RBI single by Schnupp and that was more than enough offense.

It’s the start of a busy summer for Body Armor, who have consistently been ranked as one of the top programs in the region by Perfect Game. Plenty of exciting players to keep an eye on.
