Today was a great day for baseball at Memorial Day Clash at Pops Field in Farmingdale.Farmingdale Greendogs took on the SFX Huskies and it was a game that featured great pitching from Farmingdale and they would end up victorious in an 8-0 game.
On the bump to start the game was Benji Brooks, he would retire the first two hitters of the game before getting into a bit of trouble. A triple was laced by number three hitter Blake Ferraiolo followed up by the first ever over the fence home run by Anthony Toto. The team was so happy to watch him round the bases for the first time by such a young player. Against him was Thomas LaRocco and he threw a gem. He went on to retire the Huskies 1-2-3 in the top of the first, backed by a great infield.
In the top half of the second the Greendogs would score another on an RBI groundout by Nick Thurston making it a 3 to nothing ball game. LaRoco would go on to throw another scoreless inning pitching to contact.
The third inning would keep the same scores as both pitchers did a great job throwing strikes and defending their positions.
In the top half of the fourth the Greendogs would knock in two more with a couple singles and some heads up baserunning including a steal of home by Ryan Bodt. That would close the book on starter Benji Brooks who did a good job battling against and impressive Farmingdale Lineup. LaRocco would go on to strike out 2 in the bottom half of the fourth and would wrap up his day with a five run lead after pitching above his years.

The Huskies would go on to bring in Jack Wolf who would fire a scoreless fifth working around a couple base hits. The Greendogs would go to Bodt who would strike out two in his half of the fifth.
In the sixth the Greendogs would add three insurance runs on the backs of a triple and a single from Brody Finn and Bodt respectively. Bodt would go on to fire a scoreless bottom of the sixth to close the game for the Greendogs.
All in all it was a well pitched clean game played by both teams.
