The Sharks Academy took on the B1000 Seminoles on Saturday afternoon at Allen Park in Farmingdale in the Memorial Day Clash. There was action from the get-go, so it was evident that it would be an exciting game early on.
Aaron Levinsohn, the B1000 leadoff hitter, started the game by ripping a double over the centerfielder’s head off Sharks Academy starter Lucas Sikiric. Castillo then reached on an error by the third baseman, which allowed Levinsohn to score. McManus and Ciccimarro both walked, leading to a 2-run single by Nico Pasquariello to make it a 3-0 game early. Tommy Gallo took the hill for the Seminoles and was dominant from the beginning. He induced a pop out and struck out two batters in the first inning.
Sikiric found himself in some trouble in the second after allowing a couple hits, but struck out Lynch and was helped out by Liam Cruz, his battery mate, who threw out a runner stealing. Gallo held the Sharks scoreless again in the bottom of the inning to keep the game at 3-0 in favor of B1000.
Nico Pasquariello, who we will mention quite a bit in this article, drove in another run in the third on a hard-hit RBI single, making it 4-0. Tommy Gallo cruised in the bottom of the inning, getting Christian Arlia to lineout to third, Andrew Campon to fly out to centerfield, and Cruz to strikeout looking.

The Seminole bats were out again in the fourth, with Aaron Levinsohn hitting a double to begin the inning and Castillo crushing a fastball over the left fielder’s head for a two-RBI triple. McManus drove in a run on an error and all of a sudden, it was 7-0 Seminoles going into the bottom of the fifth.
After Gallo threw another scoreless inning leaving Nicholas Merolla on base after tripling, Nico Pasquariello tripled for his third hit of the game. He was driven in by Radin immediately after to make it 8-0.
The Sharks Academy was not done yet, however. Christian Arlia was hit by a pitch, leading to an inside-the-park home run by Lucas Sikiric to make it a 8-2 ballgame. Andrew Champon and Liam Cruz walked, leading to Joseph Connolly and Nicholas Merolla driving in both of them by them reaching on fielding errors. Liam O’Sullivan followed that up with a single and the deficit was cut to 8-5.
The game was fairly quiet after this, however, with Levinsohn, Castillo, and Lynch all being retired in order. Levinsohn, now on the mound for B1000, shut the door with a 1,2,3 sixth inning to end it. The Seminoles are off to a hot start to the season and are looking forward to their upcoming tournament.
