On Saturday morning, B1 and Kings Park faced off for a doubleheader at Daniel J. Flynn Memorial Park, with B1 coming out on top in both games by scores of 10-4 and 7-6. Both games went the full six innings, with the second game coming down to the very last strike.
Game One
B1 struck first in game one, taking advantage of a leadoff walk by Mason Ciccamano. He stole second base and got to third on a groundout before being driven in on a sacrifice fly by Tommy Araneo. Kings Park answered back immediately in their half of the first inning, scoring a run on an RBI single from Anthony Romano.
B1 took hold of the game on the offensive end, scoring the next seven runs of the game within the next three innings. It started in the top of the second inning, where they got two runs to take a 3-1 lead. Nico Pasquarielli started the rally with a single, coming around to score on an RBI double from Chris Lynch on the next play. Later in the inning, Lynch scored on a double by Ciccamano. Their biggest inning was the fourth, when they scored five runs. Lynch and Ciccamano both hit RBI singles, and Araneo provided the biggest hit, a two-run single to make it 8-1.
The two teams traded runs on fielder’s choices in consecutive innings, bringing the score to 9-2 in the fifth inning. Once again, the two teams went back-and-forth, starting with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning by Kings Park when Charlie Alongi reached on an error. B1 responded in the top of the sixth inning with an RBI groundout by Ciccamano. Kings Park scored one last run in the bottom of the sixth inning on an RBI groundout by Adrian Aristy before the game ended with the final score of 10-4.

After scoring in each of the last three innings of the first game, Kings Park started the second game on a roll at the plate, scoring three runs in the first inning. After Noah Padilla walked and Adrian Aristy hit a single, Joe Rossi opened the scoring with an RBI single. After Aristy scored another run on a passed ball, Anthony Romano hit an RBI single to give them a 3-0 lead.
B1 responded in the second inning, tying the game with three runs of their own. Their rally began much like Kings Park’s did, with a walk and a single to put runners on first and second. After Nico Pasquarielli walked to load the bases, two runs came across to score on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Chris Lynch. They tied the game two batters later on another fielder’s choice, this time hit by Mason Ciccamano. They took a 4-3 lead in the next inning on an RBI single from Elliot Learn.
Kings Park got back into the lead with another three-run inning in the top of the fourth. After Mike Vlachic opened the inning with a single, the next two batters got out, setting up the top of the lineup for a two-out rally. They delivered, as Padilla, Aristy, and Rossi hit back-to-back-to-back RBI singles to give Kings Park a 6-4 lead.
B1 didn’t quit, cutting the deficit to 6-5 in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI single by Samuel Castillo. Their biggest rally happened in the bottom of the sixth inning, down one run with three outs left in the game. After the first two batters of the inning got out, Pasquarielli and Lynch both drew walks and advanced to second and third on steals. After battling into a 3-2 count, Castillo came up big once again, hitting a two-run walk off double to give B1 their second win of the day.
