Yaphank, NY – LI Elite Brock defeated Team Steel American by a score of 12-1 to kick off the Northeast Elite 16u Tournament at Lasorda Legacy Park in Yaphank, New York.
Steel was the home team, so they took to the field with starting pitcher Mateo Martinez on the mound.
Working against LI Elite’s Parker Workman, the two battled for the first three innings before the game got out of hand.
After exchanging three shutout innings, LI Elite began to take charge and put some runs on the board. Siegel took to the batter’s box and cleared the bases with a double, quickly putting LI Elite up 3-0.
New Steel pitcher Sean McGran was tasked with damage control to try and limit the amount of offense production coming from the bats of the LI Elite.
The scoring for LI Elite did not stop there, Andrew Sinclair, Ryan Connolly, and Siegel once again all recorded RBIs in the top of the fourth inning, putting LI Elite’s lead up to 9-0.
Parker Workman continued to shut down Steel’s bats. Workman recorded six strikeouts and only allowed one earned run through five innings.
LI Elite Brock defeated Steel American by a score of 11-1 after a two run, inside-the-park home run scored by Kaolis Delacruz.
