Titans Quattrini Shutout Team Steel McMurray, 12-0

Titans Quattrini are among the top teams in the country at their age group and they played like that in the opening game of the 17/18u Northeast Elite. They shutout Team Steel McMurray, 12-0, in just four innings thanks to their high-octane offense.

When asked if they always score this many runs, one of the players simply replied, “yup.” It was just another day at the office, as they look to add to their collection of hardware this weekend.

St. Thomas Aquinas-commit Ryan Callaghan got the start for the Titans and he fired a 1-2-3 first inning to get his offense in the dugout on this chilly fall evening.

They immediately scored three runs. Melo Musacchia led off with a triple (albeit misplayed fly ball) to right field to start the game. A wild pitch scored him for the first run of the game. Fabian Apicella and Jack Vallario walked and a sac fly by Joe Spaccavento made it 2-0. A wild pitch scored Vallario to make it 3-0.

That was essentially all the pitching staff as they were spotless on this evening. A 5-4-3 double play erased a leadoff error in the second inning. And the Titans’ offense would not stop there.

They added another run in the second inning on a bases loaded walk drawn by Fabian Apicella, but they stranded the bases loaded on a strikeout.

After a 1-2-3 third inning, the Titans exploded for 7 runs with the first coming on back-to-back doubles by Spaccavento and Bayram Hot. A wild pitch made it 6-0 and a two-run single by Giancarlo Cangro which completely broke open the game.

After adding another run in the fourth to make it 12-0, they were able to throw a scoreless bottom of the fourth to finish off the victory via run-rule.

The Titans are sitting pretty with 0 runs against after one game played, they will look to continue this level of play on Saturday at 2:15pm against the Storm at Brentwood.
