Farmingdale, NY – The Syosset Braves and South Shore Chiefs squared off on the second day of the East Coast Labor Day Bash Tournament, powered by Axcess Baseball. The game went the distance and resulted in a 10-10 tie.
The South Shore Chiefs struck first in the bottom of the first inning on a two RBI double by Brenden O’Connell.
Syosset managed to tie it up 2-2 the next inning with back-to-back RBI singles by Ethan Tramposch and Vinny Roseo.
The bottom of the third inning saw the Chiefs take a 5-2 lead off a big two RBI double by Jake Coppola, and an infield hit by Vinny Heller.
With a three-run lead, the game headed into the top of the fourth inning, where Syosset turned up the heat.
After loading the bases with one out, Chief’s pitcher Ryan Mifsud surrendered four consecutive walks, which knotted up the score at 5-5. Noah Flax then drove in two RBIs with a single into center field, followed by another RBI triple by Zimmerman.
After falling behind 5-2 early, the Braves now found themselves ahead 10-5.

South Shore’s Chris Normile contributed to his impressive 4-4 day with a double, eventually scoring on a wild pitch closing the gap to 10-6.
South Shore managed to stop the bleeding with Syosset’s Owen Metz grounding into a double play and Tyler Roth flying out to center field to end the top of the fifth inning.
The bottom of the fifth saw a late game surge of offense from the Chiefs. After Vinny Heller grounded into a double play, the South Shore kept fighting with two outs. Ryan Fitzgerald helped chip away at the lead with an RBI single making it 10-7.

The red-hot Chris Normile came to the plate and came through for his team once again with a two RBI double, making it a one run game. Will Harding then came up and plated the tying run with an RBI single that split the shortstop and third baseman, completing a five-run rally for the Chiefs, resulting in a 10-10 draw.
