St. John’s lost 12-3 to Xavier, in a bizarre game that saw RHP Ian Murphy taking a no-hit bid into the fifth inning and the Johnnies leading 3-1 entering the eighth inning only to see Xavier explode for 11 runs in the inning and win a blowout 12-3. Murphy wound up going 7+ innings, striking out 11 and yielding just one ER and three hits. The bullpen did not fare well as the next two relievers allowed six hits and four walks.
