It took until a week before Opening Day, but Fordham has released their 2021 schedule.
The Rams will open up on Saturday, February 20 at Villanova at 12:30. They will host Sacred Heart three days later, Tuesday February 23 in their home opener at 3 pm. The schedule will look markedly different from 2020, when they opened up against Florida International and also made road trips to Phoenix, AZ and Greenville. SC before opening up conference play.
The Atlantic-10 will play four-game series against conference teams but only ones that are geographically close to reduce travel. Additionally, they will face some local Division-I programs such as NJIT, Stony Brook, Sacred Heart, Farleigh Dickinson, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Wagner and Hofstra before the Atlantic-10 schedule opens up on Friday, April 9 against St. Bonaventure.
Last season, they were off to a great 10-6 start against strong competition prior to the season being cancelled prior to their March 13 matchup against St. John’s.
Some of their local talent includes Alvin Melendez (St. Mary’s), Aidan Tornquist (Hills West), Jake Guercio (West Islip), Jason Coules (Bellmore JFK), Ben Kovel (Calhoun) and Terrence Murray (Kellenberg).
*UPDATE*: The program is now on pause for 2 weeks due to COVID precautions and they will now open up on March 2 against Stony Brook at home.
