Long Islanders Weigh In On World Series Match Ups

You can argue the validity of the 2020 World Series Champion, but there will be a trophy handed out regardless.

I think most fans were of the school-of-thought that the award is only valid if it’s their team winning it. I think that a 60-game season is far too few games, but everyone was in the same boat. If you said the Red Sox have to play 162 but the Yankees are playing 60, then it’s a completely invalid award. It may be a joke of a season, but it’s our season – everyone had the same chance to win.

With that being said, we are in the midst of the LCS. I really like the 7 games in 7 days. Besides the obvious that it means more baseball and less days off, it also forces managers to rely on four starting pitches instead of three and actually utilizing their entire bullpen. Last year was basically the complete opposite in the sense that Washington Nationals manager Davey Martinez used Stephen Strasburg, Max Scherzer and Patrick Corbin in the rotation with Sean Doolitte and Daniel Hudson as his primary relievers. He also used his starters in relief when possible. Under this year’s schedule, that is not possible.

I put up a basic poll on Instagram yesterday and asked who’s going to win the World Series and in how many games? Below are the responses:
