Columbus Day Weekend is rolling right through as baseball competition just gets better and better! This edition features the Varsity level LI Titans taking on the Batting 1.000 Seminoles at Eisenhower Park. It was a windy one but the sun made an appearance as this game went on.
Anthony Bulla got the start for the Titans and he was very good all morning. There was only one run throughout the first two innings as Bulla did his job. Shaun Joyce got it started for the Noles with an RBI double. Although he wasn’t overpowering, Bulla pitched to contact and even added a bunch of strikeouts to his resume during this one. He featured a very good curveball and movement on all of his fastballs.
Mike Shock got the start for the Noles. Shock struck out 7 batters through his 5 innings of work and he had two hits of his own. However, one tough frame told the story in this one. In the bottom of the fourth, singles by Anthony Matturo, Tim McManus, and Evan Rodriguez all brought home runs and the Titans took a 4-1 lead. That was all Bulla needed as steam rolled through the last couple innings only allowing just one more run.

Bulla finished the day with six strikeouts through six innings in a complete game effort as the game was called due to time limit. Anthony Ayala is an honorable mention for the Noles as he had himself a day at the dish. Ayala ripped two beaming shots into the right center alley, one for a triple and one for a double. He was always robbed of another hit by an impressive leaping play at short. The LI Titans defeat the Batting 1.000 Seminoles 5-2.
