Sean Delahunty (Lindenhurst) and Dillon Cleary (Sag Harbor) have been selected to represent Ireland in the 2020 European Championship Tournament.
The event will take place in Italy from July 13-19 and it will serve as a qualifying tournament for the 2021 World Cup. The Irish National Team will be managed by Jay Murphy and he will be assisted by Vinnie Malzahn, Eric Helmrich, Gary O’Connor and Tommy Murphy.
Delahunty had the following to say about being selected,
“I first heard about the Irish National Team in September and from then on I trained all the time and threw and hit at least twice a week preparing for the tryout. I attended the multi-day tryout in Elmsford, NY and I got the call this past weekend that I made the roster.
