Randy Caden, owner of Long Island Sports Zone, and his son, Tim, organized their third annual “Hitting For Hunger” Event. After 750 lbs of food donations in 2014, they more than doubled that by 2018 and projected to top over 2,000 lbs this year. In addition, they were able to get gift certificates from Patrizia’s Restuarant.
Over 230 young ballplayers walked through the doors today to get their swings from several players from Farmingdale State College that volunteered their time.
It is an extremely generous and selfless act that could help dozens of less fortunate families during the Thanksgiving weekend.
