After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first, the LI Titans put on an offensive clinic in the 15U Championship game of the Northeast Elite Tournament at Trunzo Field. The talented squad put up 15 runs in just four innings, including eight runs in the fourth inning to post the run-rule victory over the Blue Birds.
Justin Arciniegas (St. John the Baptist 2022) got the start for the Titans. The flame-throwing southpaw struggled early a bit as he allowed two runs on three hits, a walk and a balk to fall behind early in this contest.
The Titans were undeterred as they bounced right back with two runs in the home half of the first inning on an RBI bloop single by Jack Magill and a sac fly by Rocko Cimino to left field that scored Aeden Forde.
The Bluebirds scratched across another run in the second to take the lead, but the Titans answered back with a two-run single by Liam Stemlar and a wild pitch that made it 5-3 in favor of the home team. They added another on an RBI single by Cimino to open up a 6-3 lead.
They did not look back after that.
In the bottom of the third, they added another run on an RBI double by tournament MVP Patrick Krempasky to score Ricky Fascita. They did their heavy-lifting in the fourth inning. With the first two batters drawing walks, they were able to break it completely open on a two-run double by Cimino, a wild pitch, an RBI single by Krempasky, a two-run double by Forde and a two-run error in left field to allow the 14th and 15th runs to score.
They were dominant all tournament and they were able to come away with the hardware.
