This was the sixth and final week of the 2019 New York Baseball Academy at Hofstra University. Another successful year in the books for one of the top baseball academies in the nation, according to Baseball America.
I had the opportunity to spend some time there this week. Danny Bethea, assistant coach at St. John’s University, was working with the young ballplayers at the hitting center. I had the chance to speak with him after about his famous home run in the 2012 Regionals against North Carolina, his time in the minor leagues with the Boston Red Sox and his transition from behind the dish to the mound.
Additionally, we named our sixth and final Axcess Player of the Week which went to Anthony Ferrante.
