Chris Parisi Fires Gem in 4-0 Win For Farmingdale Greendogs

Pitching and defense is the name of the game, but on this afternoon not much defense was needed behind Farmingdale’s ace Chris Parisi.

The hard-throwing 10-year-old was lights out all afternoon, as he struck out 14, allowing just two singles in a complete game (six inning shutout). The other four outs were ground outs to second, a pop out to third and a ground out to third. He struck out the side in first, second and third innings.

The Greendogs didn’t need to mount much offense, but they did the necessary damage in the first inning.

After a leadoff hit by pitch and a single by Ive Mills, Parisi helped himself with an RBI single to make it 1-0. Dylan Mingo followed with a well-struck RBI triple to center field to make it 2-0 in favor of the Greendogs.

In the bottom of the first, Ben Delanoy lined a single for the Black Diamonds first hit of the day. It was their last hit until the bottom of the fifth inning.

The Greendogs increased their lead to 3-0 in the top of the fifth on an error by the second baseman that allowed Ryan LaRocco to score. They added another run in the top of the sixth on an RBI single by Dan Hilton.

Parisi was outstanding, proving to be overwhelming on this afternoon. The coaches said that this game was similar to all of his outings, he is simply a dominant pitcher at this age group.

Following the game, he showed his maturity beyond his years, and impressive awareness to know how many strikeouts he had, calling it “one of my better outings”.

They will be back in action tomorrow at Eisenhower Power against Pro Game Hawks.
