The Holy Trinity Titans know what challenges are ahead of them for the upcoming season. The Titans play in the Catholic league, which is one of, if not the toughest league on Long Island.
They finished last year with a record of 8-13 under Head Coach Dan Luisi in his first year.
They know what it takes to compete, and they are hoping that some new additions to the team, along with some key returning players, that the Titans will do just that in 2019 to take that next step.
There are a few seniors that the Titans will look to lean on this season. To start, the team will be led by senior, Nick Hagstrom, who is a starting pitcher and infielder. Hagstrom is going to be a big part of the lineup for the Titans but that’s not all. They will look to rely on him for significant innings on the mound this year. Another senior who will have a big role on the team is Alec Dano, who plays the outfield in addition to pitching. While most of his work last season came out of the bullpen, the Titans are expecting him to be a starter and a major contributor.
There were two starters as sophomores last year who look to return in major roles as juniors. One of them was Timothy Mott Jr. who was relied on for some big innings last year and will be counted on for more of the same this year, while also contributing in the outfield. Patrick Connors is another returning starter and he will be looked to fill a key role in the infield.
Some big additions to this year’s team, are Catcher Steven Collica and shortstop Jordan Ramlogan. The Titans are going to rely heavily on Collica to take control and help lead the pitching staff from behind the plate. The Titans are excited about what impact he could bring. They’re also very excited about the addition of Ramlogan. He will look to lock down a spot as the team’s shortstop, where he has great instincts for the position. One last big addition for the team will be a transfer from Mercy high school, outfielder Ryan Razzano.
For this year’s team to be successful, the Titans are going to need several of these additions to take major steps. Luckily for them it’s pretty easy to be optimistic about that happening.
