(Editor’s Note: Brady Doran is the younger brother of George Washington University SS Logan Doran. Together, they formed an outstanding double play combination and top-of-the-order duo. He recently committed to St. Anselm College and he took the time to describe his decision. The following words are his own…)
The recruiting process was a tough process in many ways; traveling all summer to showcases and tournaments. This process also helped me grow as a player and a person. Ultimately in the end, Saint Anselm College is the perfect place for me.
The moment I stepped foot on the Saint Anselm campus, I fell in love with it and really wanted to go there. Shortly after arriving, I met Coach Cenatiempo and Coach Sumner and then got ready for the workout. After the workout, one of the kids on the team, Blaine, took my mom and I on a tour. It was great because Blaine was from Massapequa and we knew a lot of the same guys through baseball. On this tour, I was able to see the beautiful facilities that the baseball team had. One
key factor that helped in my decision was that the baseball field was very nice and was right in the middle of campus. When I met with Coach Cenatiempo and Coach Sumner, I realized they were all in for this baseball program and their ambition to better the baseball program at Saint Anselm was extremely high. They are a young coaching staff and I think it will be very exciting to be a part of something in which the coaches have a passion to take it to the next level.
Right after I left Saint Anselm, I told my parents that I could see myself there, and that was where I wanted to commit. In the end, it was a very easy and clear cut choice. What made it even better was shortly after I made my decision, I came to find that there were some very talented Long Island baseball players who I either played with or competed against, who would become my teammates at St. A’s; Frankie Roder and Tyler Widercrantz are going there also.
I just wanted to give a thank you to all those who helped me along the way. First off my teammates who helped to make me better. My coaches; Coach Lou Petrucci, who has helped me throughout this process by giving me the opportunity to develop my game and Coach Matt Marsh, who helped me as I was growing up to learn and love the game of
baseball. Most importantly, thank you to my family who supported me with everything and always motivating me to do my best throughout my life.

Good luck Brady. You are the latest of the growing long, long list of Coach Lou’s players that have been recruited to play college baseball. Enjoy the experience but remember your most important college stat will be your GPA..
