Farmingdale Cruises Into the Semifinals

For the second time in the past ten days, Farmingdale was on the brink of elimination. Again, they came out on top. The Dalers defeated Calhoun by a score of 8-1 and secured a spot in the Class AA semifinals.

When the pressure is at its climax, Justin Rosner always finds a way to stay calm. Once again, his best stuff came in an elimination game.

The sophomore finished the day going the distance, allowing only one earned run while striking out nine.

“Everything was working for me, my slider I like to keep them off balance to start them out and then come in hard with the fastball,” said Rosner. “Even if I’m not pitching I know we have a solid bullpen that can help us out in this next series,” he added.

Early on, this was a back-and-forth ballgame. Things were knotted up at one run a piece after the first two innings and it seemed as if this was going to be a close contest. However, Farmingdale had other plans.

The Dalers exploded offensively in the middle innings, providing them with an 8-1 lead after four innings. Considering they had their ace on the mound, the seven-run lead was more than enough of a cushion.

From top to bottom in the order, everybody was clicking on all cylinders. James Disanti continued to build on his already successful postseason with two more RBI today.

Max Effort Training

“First pitch hitting. Once I see that first fastball come in I just swing and see what happens.” said Disanti when describing his success at the plate this postseason. “We’re a big hype team we like to get hyped up. We take one run after the next run after the next, go off our pitching our fielding our hitting and we like to bank off that,” he added.

Farmingdale awaits its next opponent in the semifinals, but they won’t find out who they play until tomorrow’s game between Port Washington and Plainview is completed.

With the victory, Farmingdale improves their record to 13-9 on the season. They have momentum riding high into the next round, so expect them to continue their display of impressive offense.
