Noonan Lifts Plainedge To 12th Consecutive Win

Start spreading the news. Plainedge has won 12 games in a row and doesn’t seem to be cooling off anytime soon.

For the fourth time this season, the Red Devils defeated the Division Blue Dragons. This time, the final score was 6-2. Similar to their previous three match ups against Division, Plainedge was in control from the start of this game.

In the bottom half of the 1st inning, Nick DeMicco launched a 3-run homerun to give Plainedge an early 3-0 lead. This was DeMicco’s third 3-run home run in the past two postseason games.

“I feel extremely comfortable at the plate right now because our team is playing so well,” said DeMicco. “We’re ready for anybody coming at us,” he added.

Not only does Plainedge have one of the best offenses in the county right now, but their pitching has been stellar as of late.

Over their 12 game winning streak, they’ve held a run differential of +82.

Junior T.J. Noonan received his first career postseason start and did not disappoint by any means. The junior went 5 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits and 6 walks while striking out 6.

Noonan faced some trouble in the early innings due to walks, but was able to work his way out of consecutive jams. Justin Lubitz came in relief with the bases loaded and one out in the top of the 6th. Lubitz was able to work his way out of the jam, as he recorded the final five outs of the ballgame.

“No matter who it is on the mound, I believe in all of the guys. They’ll get the outs and keep us moving forward,” stated Noonan.

With the victory, Plainedge will have a chance to rest its starters, as their next game won’t be played until Friday. As for Division, they face MacArthur in a rematch. However, this time it will be an elimination game between the two Levittown teams.
