Last week was a wild and crazy one for the local teams. Lots of shake ups in the Power Rankings, but still plenty of ball to play.
Here’s what’s on tap for the college teams this week:
Division-I:
Stony Brook will travel to New Rochelle on Tuesday to take on the Gaels of Iona. They are struggling and sit at 7-25. This weekend they will face a much greater challenge when they play a three-game set against Bryant University, who is currently 24-7. Friday will be 3pm, Saturday and Sunday will begin at 1pm.
Hofstra will look to stay hot this week. They have a Wednesday match up at LIU-Brooklyn, who enters with a 10-21 record. This weekend, they will travel to North Carolina to face a CAA for in Elon University. They will play on Friday at 6:30pm, Saturday at 4pm and Sunday at 12pm.
NYIT will travel to Manhattan to face the Jaspers on Tuesday at 6:30pm. On Wednesday, they will host Army at 3:30pm. This weekend they will have their Senior Day on Saturday against NJIT at 12pm and 3pm. They will travel to them on Sunday for a DH at the same times.
Division-II:
Molloy will travel to Dominican College and face a 12-win Charger team. On Wednesday, they will host Post University at 4pm. This weekend they;ll have a four-game set against Mercy College. Friday will be a single-game in Dobbs Ferry, NY to face a 10-win Maverick team. On Saturday, they will host them in a DH beginning at 12pm. On Sunday, they’ll go back to Mercy to close out the series at 12pm.
Adelphi will look to rebound from this weekend’s two of three loss beginning on Tuesday at Southern Connecticut State at 3:30pm. They will host Felician at 3:30pm on Wednesday. This weekend they will have a big three-game series against New Haven, who is ahead of them in the southwest division of the NE-10. They will host them on Saturday for a DH beginning at 12pm. They will travel to Connecticut to close out the series on Sunday.
Dowling will have a serious challenge with a four-game set against St. Thomas Aquinas, who has proven to be their nemesis the past few seasons. They are 23-9 and will be looking to cool down a red-hot Golden Lions team that has fought back to 15-16. They will open up on Friday at STAC at 7pm. Dowling will host them in a DH on Saturday beginning at 12pm. The series will conclude on Sunday at 1pm in Sparkill, NY.
LIU Post will travel to Bloomfield College, who is 9-19, on Wednesday for a 3:30pm start. This weekend they will play a four-game series against an improving Queens College team who has 15 wins. They will open up Friday afternoon in Flushing at 3:30pm. The Pioneers will host them in a DH on Saturday beginning at 12pm. They will close out the series in Flushing on Sunday at 1pm.
Division-III:
Old Westbury will have off until Friday when they travel to face Purchase for a DH beginning at 3pm. They will also have a DH on Sunday in the Bronx against SUNY Maritime, who is currently 19-9 and first place in the Skyline Conference, beginning at 11am.
Farmingdale will look to stay hot when they host a struggling Lehman College on Tuesday at 4pm. This weekend they will have a DH at St. Joseph’s Brooklyn on Saturday beginning at 12pm and on Sunday at Mount St. Mary’s at 12pm.
St. Joseph’s will host nationally ranked Ramapo College on Tuesday at 4pm. The Road Runners are 23-4-1. They will host Suffolk CC in a DH on Wednesday at 3:30pm. This Saturday they will host Mount St. Vincent in a DH beginning at 12pm. They are 5-17 on the season.
Junior College:
Nassau will host Bronx on Tuesday at 4pm and a dynamic ASA College on Wednesday at 4pm. The Avengers are 27-4 and hitting .389 as a team. They will host Bronx against on Friday at 4pm and travel to them on Saturday at 12pm and 3pm.
Suffolk will travel to face Queensborough CC on Tuesday at 4pm, St. Joseph’s on Wednesday for a DH at 3:30pm and Queensborough on Friday at 4pm. They will host Queensborough on Saturday at 12pm and 3pm and travel to Post University in Connecticut on Sunday at 12pm.
