We are well into the college baseball season. Conference play is heating up and teams are looking to get into the best possible position for the playoffs.

Molloy has held the top spot in all of our rankings. This week is no different, but you will see a new team in the No. 2 spot and plenty of shake up beyond that.

  1. Molloy

Record: 20-9, Stock EVEN

They went 4-2 this week and improve to 20-9 on the season along with a 5-3 record in the conference. That conference record is actually only good enough for fourth place but they have time to improve on that. They currently have the ECC’s leading hitter in Angelo Navetto (.398), and the ECC’s ERA leader in Ron Bauer (0.57). Kevin Podell (.347) and Anthony Galanoudis (.357) are right behind Navetto. The pitching has gotten contributions from all over–notably Bobby Kelly who is also 5-0, but also Anthony Catinella (4-2, 3.47 ERA).

2. Stony Brook

Record: 14-13, Stock UP

The Sea Wolves are peaking at the right time. They have won six of seven and are looking like the defending America East champs. It took a while, but Jack Parenty is back to looking like one of the best players in the conference. He’s up to .344 (31-for-90) with 21 RBI and a .445 OBP. Andruw Gazzola has scored 25 runs and is hitting .337 while committing zero errors in the field. Toby Handley, Johnny Caputo and Casey Baker round out a dangerous middle-of-the-order. Chad Lee has been a savior for the pitching staff. He has an incredible 1.16 ERA over 38.2 IP. Freshman Bret Clarke has pitched his way into the weekend rotation and Teddy Rodliff has been lights out from the bullpen (2 ER over 18.1 IP). They will host UMass-Lowell this weekend as they look to stay hot.
