Pair of Five-Run Innings Lead Molloy to 14-4 Victory over Nyack

Molloy kept rolling with their fourth consecutive victory yesterday over Nyack College.

They took advantage of five errors from the Warriors and smacked 14 hits on their way to an easy 14-4 win. They are now 18-7 on the season.

They fell behind 2-0 in the first inning on an unearned run and an RBI single by Yoni Rodriguez off Seth Norman.

They responded with a run in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Angelo Navetta. Nyack increased their lead to 4-2 in the second inning off Norman–who finished with a line of 2.0 IP, four runs on five hits, two strikeouts while walking none.

The Lions offense went to work in the fourth and fifth innings when they put up five each inning.

The run scoring:

-Nicholas Gonchar 2-R single

-Anthony Galanoudis RBI ground out

-Anthony Alberghina 2-R double

-Brian Murphy RBI single

-Anthony Galanoudis RBI single

-Deilyn Guzman stole home

Kevin Hiss came on in relief to fire four shutout innings with three strikeouts to win his first game of the season.

Lucas Burton, Deilyn Guzman and Matt Castaneda all fired scoreless innings of relief.

They will host the University of Bridgeport in the DH on Friday.
