It’s April, which means the Stony Brook Sea Wolves decide not to lose.
They stomped over Iona, 15-4, for their third consecutive victory to begin their favorite month of the season.
They scored runs in the first five innings–highlighted by a seven-spot in the fifth inning.
They received contributions up-and-down the lineup, but the top two hitters led the way. Andruw Gazzola (.356) and Toby Handley (.326), the two leading hitters on the team, both smacked three hits with Gazzola scoring two runs.
Dylan Resk drove in two runs and scored three. Casey Baker had two hits, drove in one and scored two runs. David Real and Jeremy Giles both had two hits and drove in two runs.
They took advantage of seven (!) errors by Iona.
Freshman Bret Clarke was awarded the victory despite throwing two innings. Joe Baran, Aaron Pinto, Teddy Rotliff and Tim Knesnik all did their job out of the bullpen.
The Sea Wolves improve to 11-12 on the season and will be back in action today against Manhattan.
