This past weekend, we got our first taste of a college baseball weekend. Five teams were in action, four of them opening their 2016 season.
This weekend will have even more action, here’s a rundown of what we have to look forward to:
Division-I:
Stony Brook will travel down to Waco, Texas to face Baylor University for a three-game series. They are 1-2.
Hofstra will travel to Fort Myers, FLA to take on the University of Missouri for a four-game set. They are 2-2 after splitting with Seton Hall.
NYIT will have the weekend off. They will play again on March 2 when they travel to Stony Brook.
Division-II:
Adelphi will open their season with five games in Florida. They will take on Point Park University on Friday in Auburndale, Fla. On Saturday, they will play a DH against West Virginia Wesleyan in Winter Haven. On Sunday, they will close out their trip with a DH against Wheeling Jesuit University.
LIU Post will travel to Austin, Texas to take on St. Edwards University for a four-game series. They are already 10-3 on the season.
Molloy will travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for a busy weekend at the Cal Ripken Experience. They will take on Chestnut Hill College, Nyack College, Felician University and Concordia College. Felician is the only team that has played a game this season, and they are 2-3.
Dowling begins their season on March 5 at home against Southern Connecticut State.
Division-III:
St. Joseph’s will open up their season by hosting Plattsburgh State in a DH on Saturday.
Old Westbury will travel to Union, N.J. to take on the perennial powerhouse Cougars of Kean University. They have began their season 1-2 for the first time since 2008, according to their team site.
Farmingdale State will open up their season in Fayetteville, N.C. They will take on Frostburg St., Pitt-Greensburg and Brockport State
